Body composition analysis with the method of bioelectric impedance is a very useful tool in the hands of the dietitian. Body weight as a measurement does not provide the necessary information to control whether we end up taking care of or straining our body. Retention or dehydration can cause weight gain or loss. With bioelectrical impedance we can see with great accuracy the percentage of fat, muscle mass and fluid contained in our body and so we can control what leaves each time. (fat, muscle mass and water?).

The measurement requires a preparation in order to have more valid results. so the patient should:

  • Have not eaten for 4 hours before the measurement.
  • Have not consumed any liquids for 4 hours before the measurement
  • Have not consumed alcohol 24 hours before the measurement
  • For women not to menstruate
  • Have not exercised vigorously for at least 12 hours

The measurement is contraindicated in people with pacemakers, pregnant and breastfeeding women.

Metabolize uses the latest technology, TANITA Bodybuilding Analyzer, MC-180. Its advantage is that it is of four frequencies so that the percentages of fat, muscle mass and water can be segmented in the individual parts of our body, (each end separately and the trunk.) And most importantly can and does measure intracellular and extracellular fluid, that is, it can measure retention. In addition, visceral fat, bone mass and basal metabolism are assessed.

The measurement is recommended to be done once a month.
